Eric Strucko Endorses Liz
“Strucko calls the use of letter praising Snow ‘a bit deceptive’” (October 10, 2013, front page of The Daily Progress).
Liz has been publicly endorsed by Eric Strucko, who represents the Samuel Miller District on the Albemarle County School Board. As reported by Charlottesville Tomorrow, Strucko’s endorsement followed Snow’s use of Strucko’s July 15, 2013 letter that Snow recently mailed to voters. “I am just very uneasy with the way Duane put this mailing together,” Strucko said. “He put me in a position where the mailer was a bit deceptive. It implies an endorsement.” Strucko said the handling of the letter made him decide to publicly endorse Liz Palmer. Incredibly, Strucko’s letter is still posted on Snow’s website, despite the controversy. Please read the full text of Strucko’s endorsement of Liz Palmer.

Based upon her responses to a questionnaire on education prepared by the Albemarle Education Association, the AEA PAC recommends Liz Palmer as the pro-education candidate for the Samuel Miller District.

A Thoughtful, Engaged Leader
Liz says, “Albemarle County needs thoughtful, engaged leaders to share information and encourage public participation before decisions are made.” She continues, “Effective supervisors must seek feedback and then follow through with quality, long-term decisions.” Liz has brought this approach to her involvement with the Albemarle County Service Authority, League of Women Voters, the Rivanna Basin Commission, the South Rivanna River Stewardship Task Force, and the Ivy Creek Foundation Board of Directors.
Dr. Palmer is a veterinarian and small business owner with a long history of public and community service. After practicing veterinary medicine for nearly 30 years, she opened Charlottesville End of Life Pet Care, a veterinary practice that specializes in hospice care for companion animals.
Outside of her veterinary practice, Liz’s public service has focused on water issues. She was appointed to the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) Board of Directors in 2006. She currently serves as Vice Chair.
Liz moved to Albemarle County in 1996, and her parents have lived here since 1975. She lives in Ivy with her husband, Herb Stewart, and their dog Alice. Their children Clay, Ben, Matt, and Bailey all attended Albemarle County Public Schools. Their last child graduated from high school in 2008.
